UIG Gamechanger Matt Shembarger
After the need for a career change, Matt Shembarger ran into a friend at a family graduation party who gave him some valuable information which changed his life. Matt’s friend suggested he look into becoming a Life Insurance Agent. At this point in my life, he thought, I’ll give it a try!
Fast forward to 7 years later, Matt entered into the Senior Insurance market and couldn’t be happier, or even more competitive. Growing up an avid athlete has instilled the need for competition and the drive for wanting to be the best, which is something you cannot teach. You’ll see Matt out pounding the pavement, going to senior centers, making the calls, all to get him to where he wants to be in his life one day: Providing a future for his family.
“Making a difference in these people lives is so rewarding. Yes, the income is great, but I wouldn’t be able to keep with it if it wasn’t for the relationships I’ve made along the way.” Matt doesn’t just sell a policy and leave town. He makes sure his clients are well taken care of, whether it means following up on a claim, reminding them of their benefits, or finding a better plan for them. He goes the extra mile, part of what helps him succeed.
Matt lives in the Berrien Springs, MI area and focuses his business all over Michigan and the Indianapolis area. Matt was referred to UIG from another UIG agent, and in the 8 months of working with UIG he has hit the ground running, hard, and has helped a substantial number of clients with the carrier that fits their needs. “Libby is awesome, she keeps me going, and makes sure I get done what I need to, especially when I tend to procrastinate!”
When Matt isn’t out selling, he’s spending time with his beautiful daughter. He enjoys attending her softball games, and is planning on coaching her team in the future. One of the best parts about being in the insurance industry is having the flexibility to be able to be there for school events, sporting events and being able to spend time with her as much as he can.
