Remote Working Tips from the Brokerage Team

As we all are doing our part to ‘flatten the curve’, we’re learning a different type of work. At UIG, the Brokerage team, along with the Operations team, is getting accustomed to working remotely from the safety and comfort of our own homes. We’ve asked each member of the Brokerage Team for some tips to help you settle into your new “current” normal for your workday.
Graham Smith, VP of UIG Brokerage: Continue to set your alarm, get up, eat breakfast, take a shower and get dressed (even if a bit more casual). It puts you in the right mind frame to start your workday.
Linda Isbell, Broker Sales Specialist: Set up your workspace so it is similar to the set up you had in your office, make sure it is practical and convenient for you. A consistently quiet place is helpful too.
Libby Elliott, Broker Sales Specialist: Make sure you have all the resources you need from your office. Reach out to your IT department if you need help setting up your devices. To make it work for you, you may have to borrow a second monitor from your family, be resourceful.
Dan Rhen, Broker Sales Specialist: Choose the right office space- Find a quiet place, as free from distractions as possible. Keep your office space clean and free from clutter, you’ll be able to think better and stay focused.
Jessica Westmoreland, Broker Services Specialist: Open your windows, get outside and go for a walk (if you can) when you need a distraction. This will help you stay positive and provide a fresh, clear mind.
Amy Nelms, Brokerage Marketing Specialist: Getting in an early workout before you sit down at your remote desk will do wonders for you for the rest of the day. Keep those endorphins up! If you need a boost, put on some music!
