Happy Veterans Day

Veterans Day is always observed on November 11, regardless of the day of the week on which it falls.  Veterans Day began in 1919 as Armistice Day, marking the date when Germany and the allies signed a 1918 agreement to cease World War I hostilities at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month. After World War II, sentiment grew to make the day one of observance of all veterans, and in 1954 President Eisenhower signed a law that changed the name to its current form.
