A Gamechanger to us is making strides in their business and their community. Showcasing these agents not only gives other agents ideas on how they can build their business but also recognizes these agents for their hard work in the field. So, this month we recognize one of our outstanding agents. Let us introduce you to Melinda!
Melinda is the epitome of a UIG Gamechanger. She is a UIG Top Producer for this year, but you wouldn’t necessarily know that when first meeting her. She has a shy demeanor in a group setting but shines big in a small group setting or working with her clients face-to-face. Her laughter and great smile make you quickly realize why her clients are easily charmed by her.
Client retention is not something Melinda will need to be concerned with. She will bend over backward to help a client, from getting their Medicare process started, to helping a Veteran apply for services, or sitting at a client’s kitchen table and talking to the carrier concerning an issue the client may be having. Her compassion for her clients is second to none. Often we hear about a card game she played with some of her clients or heard about her picking up groceries for them too. Melinda is so well known in her community that her referral business is all the marketing she needs to do! Yes, she is that good!
This past AEP, she took a different route. For many years, Melinda ran a kiosk in a Retail Store, but the opportunities were no longer a good fit for her. With Melinda’s determination, she knew she could find something different that brought value to her community. With the help of Libby Elliott, UIG Broker Sales Specialist, they worked on finding her niche in a local grocer ( a hometown feel in the community, but a large chain grocer). They pulled a flyer together to introduce Melinda to the local store director. This flyer let the director know what Melinda could offer to the local customers and how it would benefit their community. Melinda was amazed at how welcoming and accommodating they were. They understood and appreciated the benefits of having her in the store. UIG helped Melinda pull everything she needed to set up shop in the store, which was a HUGE success.
But the story is not over; the company is now looking to expand the number of stores that could use her services, but since Melinda is only one, she is now talking to other agents in the area to join her on this “little adventure.” This will be a game-changer for Melinda and the agents that work with her.
It’s incredible to see what our agents accomplish and to be able to work alongside them to help make things happen.
