Gamechangers in the Insurance Market have so many great stories of how they do business and what has worked for them. But they do have a few things in common: education, growth, and leaning on other professionals for support. And that is exactly what this month’s Gamechanger is all about. Let us introduce you to another one of our outstanding agents.
How long have you been an agent?
I started in 2016 within the Medicare Insurance market, but I have been an entrepreneur all my life, working in oil and gas leasing with my husband. The skills I used in different markets have helped me transition to the insurance market as well.
How long have you been with UIG?
I started with UIG at the very beginning but ended up leaving as a reorganization was happening. After a not-so-great experience, I came back to UIG and met Libby and Jessica who have given me extraordinary service.
What do you like most about being an agent?
I love working with people and helping them sort through all the information and options that are available to them. This type of information can be so confusing, I’m happy to be able to break it all down for them so they can make the best decision for their needs.
What do you think sets you apart from other agents in your area?
I truly do not pay attention to the commissions. I don’t want to be influenced by anything other than the best plan available for my client’s exact needs. Even if I am just working with them for Medicare or Medicaid, I want to be able to look at their unique situation and know that I offered them the best plan. If they come to me with a specific plan in mind, I can say, let’s look at these other plans that may be a better fit for you. With no bias on my behalf.
How Do You Market Yourself to Stay in Front of Your Clients?
I stay in touch with my clients all year long with newsletter emails once a month. I link back to my website so that people can find topics that interest them on insurance and can set appointments right there. I use Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter for clients too. I post encouraging information on those platforms as well. I have separated my personal social media from my business social media. I feel that has given my clients the ability to see what I do and how I can help them. I have enlisted help from a professional for my marketing to get me started, Afterall I can’t be an expert on everything!
How Does UIG Support Your Business Efforts?
Working with Libby has been fantastic. She always listens carefully, searches for solutions for me, sympathizes with the issue, and acts on it immediately! You can’t get that level of service everywhere.
What Are Your Hobbies?
I like being outdoors to go for a hike, bike around, and garden. Luckily, I live in the beautiful state of Colorado and can be outside often. I also have taken up an interest as a weaver and enjoy making beautiful clothes! Even better when I can incorporate these activities with friends!
